A mother polar bear emerged from her nest, followed by her two cubs. The cubs were so bored inside that they immediately started playing. A game of rolling in the snow!

After watching her cubs for a while, the mother polar bear went off to find food. It moved further and further away. The further away it went, the smaller it became. Finally, it began to look like a dot. While the cubs were playing, they heard a sound like “pitter, pitter.” But they couldn’t figure out where the sound was coming from. They looked here and there in amazement. They couldn’t see anything. There was nothing around but snow!

“Here I am!” said the owner of the voice from earlier. Oh! It was a jumping, restless Arctic fox cub. And it was completely white. That’s why the cubs couldn’t see it. Soon they all started playing together. What games? Rolling in the snow and, of course, pogo sticks.

Then the Arctic fox cub noticed two little black things moving on its belly. They all followed the black things together. They were very curious about what they were. And so a new game was born: chasing the little thing! Finally, when they approached the little black things, lo and behold! A pure white Arctic hare! And what were those little black things moving around? They understood the secret when they saw the hare’s ears. The tips of the hare’s ears were pitch black!

But the polar bear cub quickly ran away. The polar bears and the arctic fox continued their game. They were having so much fun that they lost track of time. Until the mother polar bear returned. The polar bear cubs immediately went to their mother. The arctic fox cub was watching them from ahead. It had been a tiring day for the polar bear cubs. They needed rest. One fell asleep right away, wrapped in its mother’s warmth. The other couldn’t wait to go to sleep either. Neither of them even noticed the fox cub waving at them.
