Many people simply call every small animal they see a “bug.” However, it’s actually quite easy to determine whether an animal is a bug or not! A little knowledge of insect structure is all it takes. For example, if you know that all insects have six legs, you’ll realize that many different animals aren’t actually insects. Knowing that an insect’s body consists of three parts is also very helpful: head, thorax, and abdomen. And don’t forget that most insects have a pair of antennae and two or four wings!
